Table 1: Personal vs. Professional Social Engagement: The Misperceptions Of Online Privacy

Moderated by Mike Dwyer, Senior Consultant, Aon Hewitt

What We'll Discuss: Have social media completely erased the line between our personal and professional lives? For example, a recent LinkedIn poll revealed that the majority of respondents wouldn't join their employer's Facebook page because “Facebook is only for personal use”. What does this mean for companies who are seeking to turn employees into online evangelists for their brand? Whether employers and employees realize it or not, everyone is now, in a way, a spokesperson for their organization on the social web. How should companies be preparing for this?  In this session, we'll discuss the blurring of lines between the personal and professional as we witness the meteoric rise of online social engagement.

About the Moderator: Mike Dwyer not only supports social media improvement projects for external clients, but he has also completed several internal, social media initiatives while at Aon Hewitt Consulting. During his time at Aon Hewitt Mike has created and developed a New Media and Creative Strategy static page for external engagement (www.aon.com/socialmedia). Furthermore, Mr. Dwyer created and facilitates the @Aoninside Twitter profile for Aon Hewitt Consulting, as well as the LinkedIn group, “Aon Consulting HR Solutions.”  Previously, Mike served at Paladin Marketing Staffing, where he created the company's online social media strategy, and also served as Director of Client Engagement at the Zocalo Group, a leading word-of-mouth marketing agency.

In his “spare” time he produces a Twitter based improv show called “The #Tweetlife” which has been a huge success over the last year at The Playground theater.

Table 2: How the Social Web Changes Media Relations

Moderated by Johan-Till Broer, Public Relations Manager, NAVIGON

What We'll Discuss: The social web has changed journalism in many respects. Traditional media are embracing the web, mobile, blogs, Twitter, Facebook and other channels, all of which accelerate the speed news travels. Social media also opened up a whole new way of researching stories, making it easier to find sources and to follow events in real-time as they unfold. To no surprise, news media even directly quote messages posted on Twitter and other platforms. But what impact does this change have on media relations and how can PR professionals utilize the social web for their own needs? Are traditional tools, such as the press release, doomed to irrelevance or will they coexist? In this session we will discuss how the social web changes the way PR professionals interact with influencers and how it can help them build relationships, research stories and get noticed.

About the Moderator: Johan-Till Broer is a public relations manager and spokesperson at NAVIGON, a leading provider of navigation solutions. He holds a master’s degree in media culture, and gained his first experience in Germany, later managing public relations in the United States.  Today, he oversees NAVIGON’s public relations efforts in Australia, North America and South Africa. Johan recently started his own blog on international public relations and social media at GlobalPRBlog.com

Table 3: How to Use Interviews to Grow Your Blog Traffic

Moderated by Tim Jahn, Founder, BeyondThePedway.com

What We'll Discuss: Do you pour your heart and soul into your blog, but feel like your blog's traffic isn't as high as it could be?  Do you feel like you've tried all the techniques suggested by the "gurus"?  Then this session is for you.  We'll explore how to use interviews on your blog to attract new visitors and keep them excited about coming back for more.  We'll discuss why interviews are an effective technique and ways to successfully produce high quality interviews (the kind that get people really interested).

About the Moderator: Tim Jahn is the founder of BeyondThePedway.com, a website where he has conducted over 150 interviews with creative entrepreneurs to learn about their successes and failures.  The technique of using interviews has increased Tim's blog traffic by 650% in less than 2 years.  Tim is also a regular contributor to Tech Cocktail and Crain's Business Chicago.

Table 4: Reaching B2B Buyers and Influencers on Facebook and Twitter

Moderated by Marti Konstant, VP of Marketing, Open Kernel Labs

What We'll Discuss: Using Twitter and Facebook for B2B communications often leaves more questions than answers about how success is defined. The good news is that there are more success stories and ideas than we will have time to discuss. Topics will include dependencies for considering these two channels, such as target market social hangouts, social behaviors in a particular industry, the type of industry, and the overall PR and marketing goals. Twitter enjoyed a bit of a jumpstart in the B2B social media realm, but Facebook is fast becoming a necessary and exciting part of the business equation.

About the Moderator: Marti Konstant is VP of Marketing at Open Kernel Labs, a mobile phone software startup based in Chicago. Her marketing success has resulted in deployment of software in 1.3 Billion mobile phones. Her background includes companies such as Apple, Tellabs, and Clear Communications. She subscribes to three social media tenets: 1. Leverage large, 2. Create social objects, and 3. Create 9 lives for your content. Her social tech stories are published in BtoB magazine and marketingprofs.com, among others. She was a featured speaker at MarketingProfs first SocialTech Conference and is on the content advisory council for MarketingProfs 2011 B2B Forum. Marti holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Table 5: Social Media Mesurement for Dummies and Metrics You Can Count On

Moderated by Amber Porter Cox, Vice President of Digital Marketing, GolinHarris

What We'll Discuss: As a marketer or communicator, how do you justify to your boss, clients or colleagues that social media engagement is worth the investment? We’ll explore the myths of social media measurement and how you can chart a path to actually measuring what’s important to your brand, not just influencers. Topics will incorporate a phased approach to getting started, assessing where you are currently and creating a roadmap to a successful measurement program.

About the Moderator: Amber Porter Cox is a Vice President at GolinHarris, where she leads the digital marketing practice for the Chicago office. Her efforts with iconic brands – McDonald’s, SAP, Coca-Cola, and Bank of America, to name a few – have helped companies achieve media recognition and accolades with consumers in both the B2B and B2C markets. Amber brings a mix of technology and creative marketing experience to ensure a comprehensive, strategic approach is orchestrated with companies as they enter, evolve and innovate online.
